G is Grand

I saw this on The Science of Music and wanted to play. The game is to list ten things that you love that start with the letter assigned to you and explain why you love them. It's sort of like Scattegories, but with only one category. If you want to join simply comment asking for a letter and I will assign you one. Since I find it kind of shady that rachelizabeth had the letter 'S' and I ended up with 'G', I promise that I will use my Scattergories die to assign all letters.

*My caveat: 'G' was an extremely difficult letter for nouns. There are plenty of adjectives that I tried to avoid or at least be creative with. Furthermore, there were some nouns that I thought of that I simply could not use. For example, I have no particular attachment to Georgia and I really hate grass so neither were a good choice. This is the order in which I thought of the objects, so we'll see what that tells you about myself...

1. Grapes. The most delicious fruit ever, the concurrent sweet and tart, and able to quench thirst when you are free to snack but not free to go to the water fountain. Versatile and tasty, grapes are the perfect on-the-go snack, but somewhat dangerous when your lungs are filled with carbon dioxide.

2. Game Nights. A wonderful way to relax with a roommate and some friends. They are also nice for getting to know new people in a casual, interactive setting.

3. Good People. My first adjective, but also part of my vernacular. 'Good people' include my family first and foremost closely followed by my roommate and former roommates and pseudo roommates at the theatre. It can be expanded further to some beautiful people from church and from my past.

4. Green. It's my favorite color. There's not much more to say, it's just pleasant.

5. Gas Guzzling. I like driving and going places and seeing new things or visiting familiar far away things and jamming out with someone along the way. There's no down time like down time behind the wheel.

6. Gators. They are my favorite animal, Floridian that I am. Okay, that's cheating. The animal is actually an alligator, thereby starting with 'a'. Fine, you win. In that case I am refering the the Gators as the mascot of the University of Florida, the alma mater of my dad, my brother, and my sister-in-law. Also, they're pretty well skilled on the football field.

7. Grenade-loving Adam Baldwin. I told you I was stretching it didn't I? Adam Baldwin plays Jayne on the TV show 'Firefly' and Casey on the TV show 'Chuck.' Both of these characters are unemotional, sarcastic, weapons-loving Marine types. However, the characters have different kinds of loyalties and Adam Baldwin plays all the subtlies between the almost identical characters, demonstrating strong acting skills. I'm very impressed!

8. Grace. After that I started running through names and came up with my grandmother's name. It is a beautiful name but also a beautiful noun. It is the grace of God that makes any part of existence possible, much less the abundant living that he offers. Interestingly, in a recent sermon series we also defined grace as the power of God to do the will of God. It was a different perspective than I had heard before, but quite empowering.

9. Generations old music. Another adjective I suppose. I just wanted to mention that I love music, that it is a part of everything I do, but that I also tend to like music at least a couple of decades old. I am currently loving classic rock, but I also enjoy spending a significant amount of time in the Frank Sinatra era.

10. Greece. I have never been, but I will go someday since I am part Greek. I like the food and the pictures I have seen. I love the colors in their cities and the Mediterranean in general.

I made it! Ten 'g's. Let me know if you want to play too!

Good going! Great! Ok, I'll stop with the G's now.

Sorry to make it hard, I just assigned the first letter that popped into my mind.

It was a good list, though. Thanks for playing!
